Injection molding

The acrylic is injected under pressure into a closed flask, which limits shrinkage and gives a closer fit than conventional packing.

Teeth
Multilayer acrylic or composite denture teeth
Visits
Impressions, bite registration, wax try-in, delivery
Send
Shade, mould, midline and smile line on the Rx
Later

Flexible partials

Partials made from a flexible, metal-free material, with clasps formed in the base instead of metal. Virtually unbreakable and easy to remove, they are the right choice for patients with metal allergies.

Best for
Patients with metal allergies
Built from
Flexible, metal-free base and clasps
Wear
Virtually unbreakable, easy to remove

No metal

The clasps are part of the flexible base, so nothing metal shows when the patient smiles.

Material
Flexible thermoplastic nylon, no metal
Retention
Clasps of the same pink resin, in the undercuts near the gum line
Good for
Metal allergies, and patients who do not want clasps to show
Limits
Hard to reline or add teeth to; needs enough undercut to hold
Care
Soak and brush; no abrasive paste
Typical values from the material makers; your case may differ.

An upper flexible partial
No metal clasps

The clasps are the same flexible pink resin as the base and hold the teeth near the gum line, so they blend in.

Metal partials

A cast metal framework carrying the acrylic and denture teeth. Excellent fit and minimal thickness, with the highest level of durability of any partial.

Best for
Long-term partials that need the most durability
Built from
A cast metal framework
Fit
Excellent, with minimal thickness
A metal partial on its model
Thin and strong

Metal lets the framework stay thin over the palate and tongue, which patients notice as comfort.

Framework
Cast cobalt-chromium, in one piece
Design
Surveyed on the model: rests, clasps and connectors
Steps
Framework try-in, then teeth and acrylic
Later
Teeth can be added and the base relined
Good for
Long-term partials that need the most support and the thinnest palate
Typical values from the material makers; your case may differ.
